The new buildings at the Otekaike School, whore defective boys are treated. bare been completed, and the Minister for Education (Hon. .1, A. Han an) • has authorised the' works in connection with the drainage and water supply. The cost of these works is going to be -considerable, water having to be brought from some distance away, but tbe Minister hopes to-have the new school ready for occupation quickly. The school authorities are hampered at present by lick of room and the absence of adequate facilities for classification.
There ware only 51 hosnitals in Great Britain and II (and in 1800. Universal service in France is strictly enforced, the exemption being for physical unfitness only.
