GRAND OPERA HOUSE

"OUR MISS GIBBS.’

"Gipsy Love’’ was repeated by the J. C. Williamson Comic Opera Company at the Grand Opera House last evening, when there was a large attendance, and the performance passed off most satisfactorily. To-night "Our Miss Gibbs ’ will be revived, and a representation of increased interest is promised. Mr Leslie Holland, as the titled amateur crook, will repeat a performance which made him popular from one end of Australasia to the other. Mr Phil. Smith as Timothy Gibbs is said to be irresistibly funny. Miss Minnie. Love has achieved her best triumph as Mary Gibbs. » part which it is said she sings and acts delightfully. Miss Florence Young is congenially cast as Mrs Parqiihar, and Miss Ethel Cadman’s delightful soprano voice is heard to advantage in the music allotted the role of Lady Thaner. Miss Maggie Moore, undoubtedly one of Australasia's greatest favourites, is bound to receive a hearty reception when she appears as the Duchess of Miineter, and C. R. Bantock will be welcomed once again as the Earl of St. Ives. Mr Derek Hudson as Lord Eynsford and Mr Reginald Roberts as Slithers have materially assisted in making the revival of "Miss Gibbs" so successful. Only three performances can be given of "Our Miss Gibbs," and on Friday night "Paul Jones" will be staged. On Saturday and Monday "The Quaker Girl" will be revived. and on Tuesday and Wednesday “Ma Mie Rosette" will be produced. The last three nights of the season will witness the initial production here of tho great London gaiety piece "The Dancing Mistress." The plans for "Miss Gibbs'' and "Paul Jones" are now open, and those for the last seven nights of the season will be available to-morrow morning. . i
