A UNIQUE ART UNION

NO DELAY IN DRAWING. The committee of the McHardy gift ■ art union announces that the drawing for the valuable block of land in Palmerston North will take place on the 29th inst., without fail; in short, that there will be nq postponement from the date first announced. Promptitude and practicability, apparently, are two strong features of the promoters of this art union. Not! only are they to keep faith with the large-hearted public in the date of drawing, but already they have remitted' money to the front to provide practical aid,' per the Y.M.C.A., for our noble soldiers, and will continue to do so. The books of the art union are open to inspection'. The public should not be slow to appreciate such worthy and business-like methods. Half a crown given in this way to help 'those who are sacrificing life and limb may return a 3000-pound blessing to the donor. The property, given by Mr P. A. McHardy to the Manawatu Patriotic Society to be disposed of for the wounded soldiers" fund, is situated in the business centre of Palmerston North, and is valued at £3OOO. A syndicate is prepared to purchase it at £2OOO cash.; But somebody's humble half-crown is.to take it on the 29th inst- Pill in the application form at foot of the illustrated advertisement, appearing in.thii issue and remit to J 3. Grant Sim, Box 229/ Palmerston North.
