Accommodation has been booked for her at TrenthamSeadown galloped half a mile yesterday morning in good order. He wont very wellHappiness and Chakwana went over half a mile, both finishing well. The tracks at Trentham are very hard and a little rain would do no harm at all. Some of the horses engaged at the Cup meeting, who have been doing a lot of racing of late, will find it difficult to maintain! their stability unless the going lets up some. A good number of horses were out yesterday morning. Some sprinted, but the majority did light and useful work. Taringamutu did a mile in good time, going evenly throughout. The filly looks exceedingly well. She went for her feed after work just like a, "good one should. Deltonio is one of Mr Harvey Patterson's breed, by Delaware (who carried the late G. G. Stead's colours successfully in the Ddminion) from Lady Melton (dam of Mowbray and Meltchikoff). At the Wyndham meeting on New Year's Day Dgltanio won the Visitors' Hack Handicap, five ,furlongs and a half, carrying 7.8, in lmin ?Bec. Meltchikoff won. the following race on the card-

It is quite evident that a large number of the horses remaining in the Second Taranaki Stakes stand their ground through negligence on the part of their owners. The southern stables are well represented, the collection including Treadfire, Greenstreet, Bimeter, Einperador, Good Hope, Battle Eve, Plying Start, and Bonny Dream. There is sure to* be a big weeding out when the next payment falls due.
