GERMAN SHIPS SEIZED
,£3,000,000 WORTH IN ITALIAN FORTS. PARIS. November 25. The "Petit JournalV Milan correswmdenfc states that in compliance with a Government order the German ships w<hioh. took irefuge in Italian ports at the outbreak of war nave been seized. There ara thirty-six" ships, representing a value of over .£3,000,000. It was found that in every case the machinery had been dismounted, and it was : only after diligent search that the missing parts wore found on board, where they had been skilfully hidden. In the Ampria machinery parts were found stowed away inside a 'cement staircase which had been built in the hold specially for the purpose.
