The Stakes event resolved itself into a race between Traquette and the Imported . Cyklon; which has . been much fancied for the Caulfield, Cup. Both left the field ten lengths behind. The mare led by a length into the straight, and increased this easily and won well in, hand half a second outside the Caulfield record for the distance. The Guineas was a foregone conclusion for the brilliant Patrobas, which is now established os Victoria’s best Derby colt. Lying nearly last to the home turn, ho smothered everything. Traquette’s supporters again favoured her in the last) race, believing ,tho weight would noli trouble her over a mile, hut Traquette got left at the post. The time is a re-i cord for the race.
