Since August last Mr J. R. Corrigan, "The Oaks,” Hawora, has kindly allowed the purchasing officers of the Defence Department in that district the free use of his paddocks for the purpose of holding horses whenever necessary before forwarding them to the remount dopo.t. Since March of this year Mr Corrigan has also daily carted out a load of hav for the horse; when there have been any in the paddock, The Defence Department expresses its thanks to Mr Corrigan for his generous and action, which is highly appreciated.
