FULL AND OPEN DISCUSSION ESSENTIAL.” By Tolosrapli—Press Association—Copyriehl (Received July -11, 4 p.m.) LONDON, July 11. Reuter interviewed Sir Robert Borden, who stated that ho expects to remain in Europe for some weeks conferring with tho Government relating to tho war, and visiting tho Canadian forces. He states that a full and open discussion is essential If Canada is to cooperate most effectively with tho Mother Country. While the issue of tho war is not doubtful, the Empire is facing a task which will fully test her resourcefulness, self-control, patriotism and efficiency as self-governing communities. Her resources are abundant, but tho lack of preparation is still strikingly apparent. This is convincing evidence that the Empire is menacedNo one thus unprepared would confront tho most highly organised and aggressive military Power over known, and trained for half a century for tho achievement of world-widd supremacy by force of arms. The spirit of tho Canadian people was expressed in tho resolve that the greatsacrifices already made must not be in vain, and that a barbarous and merciless militarism shall no longer overshadow humanity. The groat questions touching the status and constitutional relations of the dominions with each other will arise after tho war. It would be idle and undesirable to dwell on them at present, when tho supremo issue is the only concern.
