There ivas good competition for stylish crossbreds, but shabbier were slow of sale. Prices were irregular, and in buyers favour. Ltd., have received the following cablegram from London, dated July 6th''Wool Sales—The market is better, and compared with those ruling at May 20th prices are higher for merinos by 10 per cent, to 15 per cent, for superior and medium, 5 per cent to 10 per cent, for interior qualities, and 5 jjer cent, for lambs. Pine oreasy crossbred has advanced 10 per cent-, coarser sorts and scoured 5 per cent, to 7i per cent., greasy lambs 5 per cent., slipe combing and lambs par to 5 per cent-, and short 12§ per cent." Murray, Roberts and Co.. Ltd., have received the following cablegram dated 7th inst.: —"Excepting best combing, merino and fine crossbred market weaker; coarse to medium crossbred declined halfpenny per lb.”

Cheese—The market is very .slow. Xhc Government is buying sparingly. The Waipara’s Australian consignment sold at 84s to SBs per cwt. New Zealand white, 92s to 945, and coloured 90s to 925. BRADFORD WOOL AIARKET. The Bradford tops market is quieter. There is fair inquiry for early delivery. Prices are firm, and unchanged on the week. TALLOW SALES. At the tallow sales 2013 casks were offered and 255 sold. Prices were unchanged at 36s 3d per cwt for fine mutton and 32s 6d for medium; fine beef made 365. and medium 325. LINSEED OIL AND TURPENTINE. Linseed oil is stationary at .£26 10s per ton, or 2s X.55d per gallon. Turpentine, American spirit, is Is ltd dearer on the week at 39s 4jd per cwt. or 2s 11-85 d per gallon. The New Zealand Loan and Alercantile Agency Co., Ltd., has received the following cablegram from Loudon under date 7th-iust.“Tallow.—We quote present spot values for the following descriptions: Fine mutton 35s 3d per cwt, good beef 345. mixed 30s 6d. The market is dull, with a downward tendency.' - LIVE STOCK SALES CRUTCHING SALE IN WELLINGTON. The Wellington woolbi'okers held the third of the winter crutchiug sales yesterday, 2000 bales being offered. Buyers were present in good numbers from all parts of the Dominion, and prices continued on a high level. Crutchings advanced fully a halfpenny on June sale for medium, good, and best qualities, but seedy and inferior were if anything a shade lower. Fleece wool ■ was strongly sought after. There was a quantity of scoured and slipe wools catalogued, which sold at prices hardly up to June sale values. The following is the range of prices ;—Crossbred, medium l)p coarse, 13Jd to 16d per ibj pieces and bellies, 8d to 113 d; locks and stained pieces, 4d to 8d; crxxtohiugs, superior, lsd to 15£d-, crutchings, medium to good, lid to Hid; crutobings, seedy and inferior, 3d to lOld; lambs, 14d to laid; dead, 12d to 16|d.
