The "Figaro” states that the German submarine which sank the French liner Carthage off Cape Helles, was apparently of the latest type. She strove to aim a torpedo at the patrol boat Holland. The latter was, however, brilliantly handled, and never presented a target for a torpedo. Meanwhile, the Holland fired twentyfive rounds, the last at twenty yards’ range, and the submarine disappeared in a cloud of thick smoke. GERMAN PRESS FICTION AN ILLUSTRATION.
