FAILURE OF HUN PLANS
An Italian cruiser has been sunk in the Adriatic. An Austro-German conference, held in Vienna, to discuss what territorial compensations might bo granted to Roumania, ended in failure to reach tangible results. Violent infantry actions are”reported north of'Arras. At Souehez tho Allies carried a line of German 'trenches. Enemy attacks were stopped at other places. Two thousand military trains have crossed the Rhine in connection with tho westward movement of German troops. Intense fighting continues on the Gallipoli Peninsula. Mr Ashmead Bartlett describes the “Battle of Gully Ravine.” Tho Austro-Germans offered a separate peace to Serbia, but the Premier rejected ft.
