ANOTHER CONFERENCE PROPOSED. At the conclusion of a caucus of the Go vernment party last night the Prime Minister (tho Right Hon. W. F. Masuey) said that one of the matters und or consideration had been the suggest ion he had made previously concerning the formation of a “National Government” to lipid office during the period of the war. ‘‘Tho caucus authorised me to continue negotiations with the leader of tho Opposition for tho formation of a National Cabinet,” stated Mr Massey. “1 on my part promised that no definite arrangement would be made by me without consulting tho members of the party.” . . The leader of the Opposition (Sir Joseph Ward) stated last night that he had nothing to add to what he had said air eady on the subject. Ho had indicate d a means by which ho believed tho < o-operation of the parties in a practical and useful direction could be secured iter the purposes of the war.
