Herbert Samuel, Postmaster-General, speaking in the House of Commons, said that 26,000 postal workers had enlisted, and that an arrangement was being made to enable the release of a further considerable number. Deficiencies in the stuff would he made up by the employment of persons who were ineligible for military service, and also by women.
