(Received July 7, 9 p.m.) PARIS, July 7. Official. —“The British repulsed several counter-attacks south-west of Pilkem inflicting heavy losses. The Germans bombarded Arras, especially the Cathedral, with incendiary shells. We recaptured a section of the Souvaux trench on the heights of the' Meuse. The enemy counter-attacked, but was caught by machine guns and curtains of shrapnel, and retired in disorder, suffering heavy losses.”
