All English army movements are carried out with the utmost secrecy. Dr Martin gave an example of this policy in his address at the New Zealand Club luncheon yesterday. He left Aldershot in charge of 300 men, who were put into a train with no idea where they were going. After twenty miles had been travelled, the guard and enginedriver of the train were replaced by two men who alone knew the destination. The train travelled to Southampton through numerous barricades and defences, and the men embarked, again for an unknown destination. Havre was found to be the port of disembarkation.
