OF WOUNDED OFFICERS. . The following personal sketches ol wounded (officers are obtained from the official records:— Major C. P. Brercton, Canterbury Battalion', is 39 years of age, and last resided at Ngataiuoti-, where he was a farmer by occupation. He is a single man, and belonged to the 12th (Nelson) Regiment,: : Captain J. H- Bartlett, Auckland Battalion, was born at Auckland in .TS9O, and last resided at Birkdale, where ho followed the pursuit of farming. He is a single man, and in August last 1 was a captain in the 15th Regiment.. Captain-Surgeon G. Craig is 46 years of age, and a native of Edinburgh, Scotland. 4 He is a married man, and on the outbreak of the present war was practising at Marton. He served in the 3rd New Zealand Contingent in the South African war. Lieuteijant H. R. Cowan, Wellington Battalion, is a native of Auckland, 25 years of age, and single. In August last he v.ias employed at the North Island Brewery, Mangatainoka. He was a lieutenant in the 17th (Ruahino) Re-, giment.; , v "' Lieutenant C. T. J. Woodficld, Otago Battalion,; was born at London in 1383, and is' a married man with three children. In August, 1914, he was a painter residing lit Caversham, and had command of the Caversham Cadets. / Lieutenant A. G. Vallentino, Otago Battalion, was born in 1892 at Balclutha, and when the war broke out was a shepherd at Waimahaka, He had .'charge of the local Senior Cadets, and is a single man. ■ Lieutenant W. F. Tracy, Otago Battalion, who is a native of Southbridge, 'Canterbury, is 25 years of age, single, 'and in ordinary life a Customs clerk by ■ occupation. Private B. L. Pauli was the only son of Mr N.,N. Pauli, of Wyndbam. He was twenty-two years of age. He ivas educated at the Southland Boys’ High School, and joined the staff of the Bank of New Zealand a.t Wyndham, where he remained for some years. He enlisted in the first expeditionary force. Before enlisting ho was second lieu'tenant in' the 14th Regiment (C Com- ' pany). Ho was a representative hockey ■ player. • Lance-Corporal Leonard Cave Armstrong, who has died of wounds received at the Dardanelles, was a son of Mr J. B. Armstrong, railway traffic manager, at Wanganui. He was a member* of Dalgety and Company’s Wanganui branch, and was well known in swimming 'and boxing circles, having .won the swimming championship at Wanganui 'College and at the Wanganui High School. ■ AUSTRALIAN FORCES RELATIVES LIVE IN NEW ZJSA- ' LAND.
