THE LUSITANIA DISASTER
To (ho Editor “N.Z. Times.” Sir, —The latest act of German "cullur,’’ viz., tlie sinking of the Lusitania by the Germans, is one of the most coldblooded and disgraceful ' attacks ever perpetrated by a boasted civilised nation, and should serve to arouse the indignation of every citizen in the British Empire, which no doubt it willj do, and stimulate recruiting everywhere in the British colonies, to put down lor ever a nation which is unfit to inhabit the earth, and which will not stop at anything. Sir. you will agree with me no doubt, when I say that they are not fit to inhabit the earth among the truly civilised nations. The sinking of this .big liner has resulted in great Joss of life. Germany has disregarded the rules of war and will have to pay at the finish of this great struggle. The sooner all the Germans are wiped off the earth the better it will, be for all. Though Germany is still very active in tlie various war theatres, she cannot hold out for many months longer. It will only require an overwhelming force of British, French and Russian soldiers to accomplish victory in the end. The sympathy of every British citizen will bo felt for those who. have lost their loved ones and the survivors in this latest act-of German barbarity. In conclusion, I "wish to thank you for publishing this mild expression of my feelings at such a murderous deed, in the hope that vengeance will bo eventually meted out to the Germans who were responsible for the disaster —I am, etc., BRITISHERMartinborough, May 10th.
