Jones, who formerly trained foi Mr W, H. Bidwill, of Wairarapa, haj now settled down with a string of severa good horses »tti tho itacecourso Hotel stables, at Hiccarton. The two Wairarapa horses. Botanisl and Verouenl. arc engaged in the PI yin ( Handicap at. Wanganui. Neither oJ these horses-have yet won in open com pany. Andy Mathewson, the e.v-Maatertor owner, who is now in Australia, does nol intend to bring Clontaft over to Ke« Zealand for the hurdle racing season m was originally intended. Sir Knox will probably compete at tin Otaii and Wellington winter mootings He Is now doing casv work.
