A wounded officer from the Flanders fight told an interviewer that when he emerged from the fight everything seemed redhot. It was like a vision of an earthquake, blbod, and death, “Nobody could tell which way it was going. Wo were making mincemeat of tho Germans, and they were making hash of us.
