NATIONAL RESERVE
The B Company, No. 2 Regiment, National Reserve, held an election of officers on Monday evening instead of the usual drill, and the following were elected to act: —Major, Mr H. Amos (appointment by the district executive unanimously approved of); captain, Mr A. G. D. Bayfield; lieutenants, Messrs Todd and Rogers; sergeant-major, Mr I. Lockhart; platoon sergeants,' Messrs Wilson and Morton; sergeants, Messrs Gaudin, Lauchlan, McLaren, and Burbery; corporals, Messrs Christie, Savage, Abbott, and SliepherdA church parade has .been arranged for next Sunday morning, and a full muster is promised. Previous to marching off, the drums, which have been donated by tbe B Company, will be presented to the Kilbirnie Senior Cadet Band, which will then accompany the parade to the church. Next drill night the company will be. drafted into its permanent formation, and the officers allotted their various commands. Strong efforts are being made to bring the company up to the full strength, and all members are urged to “ recruit ” to this good end. Mr Perry, who is in command of the Eastbourne platoon of B Company, has agreed unconditionally to accept the nominations of the Hataitai Company, thus confirming the ranks of major and captain as appointed. ; '
