SHOOTING PARTY’S EXPERIENCE
FOUND SAFE AFTER TWO DAYS ABSENCE.
News was received by Superintendent Ellison yesterday afternoon from Constable McHolm, of Upper Hutt, that a party of three men who went pighunting from Whiteman’s Valley on' Sunday, in the direction of OrongoOrongo or Wainm-o-naata had not returned. The party consisted of Messrs J. Hamilton (Silverstroam), Morris (surveyor, Wellington), and Blood (Christchurch). As no sign of them had been seen for two days, borne anxiety was felt at the Hutt, and' search parties,, were sent; out to, about- 1 the country in the neighbourhood of 1 the possible routes taken by the sportsmen. -- The welcome news that no ill ft'Jvj had befallen the pig-hunters was received last evening by Superintendent' Ellison, in the following telegram sent from Upper Hutt. by Constable Me-' Holm:—“Missing shooting party found safe.” :
