Dewar’s and Buchanan’s whisky companies have amalgamated, with a capital of £5,000,000. There will be nt> public issue. The amalgamation is stated to bo purely a financial arrangement to enable the firms to meet high taxes and the high price iof raw materials ; otherwise they will maintain separate existences;
