The wheat market is very quiet, but prices are firmer, APPLES, PEARS AND GRAPES. In .the Moldavia’s shipment of West Australian apples there were many spotty, soft and bruised. Some thousands of cases were sold subject to acceptance. Prices: Cleopatraa, 12s 6d, 14s 6d; Jonathans, 20s 6d, 14s; Cox’s Orange,, very ripe, 27s 6d, 20s; others, 10s, 12s fid. The pears were .very wasty, and brought 2s 3d and 8s per bundle and 12s and 14s per case. Grapes: Black Malaga, 235; others, wasty, 3s to 13»TALLOW. The bulk of the wool was rough and seedy, but it sold at better prices than good crossbred realised at the opening sales of the period. Murray, Roberts and Co., Ltd. We held our fortnightly sale of sheepskins and hides on Wednesday, the date being altered to fit in with the last wool sale of the season. Wo submitted a catalogue of 3000 skins, 900 hides and calfskins, and some lots of tallow and sundries. The attendance of buyers was augmented by several of the regular season's wool operators from other centres, and we experienced very keen competition for sheepskins. Amongst our oiferings of hides were some superior freezing works lots, in excellent condition, and for these we h&d very good competition. Ordinary butchers lots to fair condition were, however, to some extent neglected, and prices for these 6uifered a decline of fully id, to Id. Tallow was in demand at late rates. Association commenced to-day at the show ground, when there was a good attendance, Flock rams were offered, and there was a dull sale for all breeds at lower averages than last year, many lots being passed- Border Leicesters sold rather better than other breeds.
