HURRICANE AT VAVAU

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SUVA, March 25. A hurricane was experienced at Vavau (Tonga Islands) from the 17th to the 19th March. It reached its height on the Friday morning. Considerable damage was done. Plantations have been put back a year. No casualties have been reported. A few houses were unroofed. The steamer Atua was held up for two days. It is believed Haapai and Nukualofa escaped.
