CAMP ITEMS
TRANSFERS. The following transfers are announced: —From D Company, sth Reinforcements, Private T. S. Harvey, to Army Service Corps; from A Company, 4th Reinforcements, Corporal Gurney, to A Squadron, sth Reinforcements; from C Squadron, 4th Reinforcements, Shoeing Smith G. Sinclair, to D Squadron, 4th Reinforcements; from B Company, sth Reinforcements, Private R. Paul, to D Squadron, 4th Reinforcements; from _ A Squadron, sth Reinforcements, Private J. Green, to A Company, sth Reinforcements. APPOINTMENTS. Appointments as follow have been approved by the camp commandant, with temporary attachment to the N.Z.P. staff: —Sergeant-Majors E. Gearing and G. Keble to be regimental sergeant-majors. A gift of two sacks of pears from W. Brantley, Rangiora, has been received at the camp. This evening all officers, not on special duty, will attend a lecture to bo ;ivcn by the chief of the general staff (Lieut.-Colonel C. M. Gibbon), the subject selected being “The Attack.” BATTALION ORDERS. Tho following orders have been issued by Lieutenant-Colonel A. do B. Brandon, officer commanding the sth (Wellington) Regiment. A class of instruction will be held twice a week for men who wish to sit for N.C.O.’s examination. Tlie following men have passed the N.C.O.’s examination: —Sergeants, W. A. Holmes and 11. P. Parnell of A Company, F. Soager and H. Davies of B Company, and R. W. Edwards, JS. Evans, N. S. Johnson, R. P. Hornblow, D. (>. Talbot, and D. R. Richmond of C Company. Corporals, A. B. Christenson, H. J. Caverhill, and W. F. Hargreaves of A Company, G. Russell and H. W. Miller of B Company, and A. Chappel, G. B. Dali, F. Robertson, L. M Moss, V. H. Crosbie, H. S. Sanson, and A. B. Gallaher, of C Company. Lance-corporals, F. G. McNally, T. M. Abernethy, and R. Zockerbie, of A Company, W. A. Hopkirk and F. R. Alexander, of B Company, and E. E. Lo Grove, D. L. Carrigan, H. M. Ewart, D. G. B, Morrison, C. R. McNiven, and M. A. Hood, of C Company.
