SIXTEEN MOTORS BURNED

NAPIER, October 29.

A disastrous fire occurred early this afternoon in Lowe and Keesing’s motor garage, whereby damage to the extent of close on £IO,OOO was done. The. building was mainly of concrete, and the walls were undamaged. Four or' five cars were removed before the tiro, reached them, but sixteen others were damaged—some absolutely beyond repair. Several of the cars were not insured, and those damaged included some very valuable ones. The building was insured for £1650, and the, stock-in-trade end plant for £IOOO, both in tie Ocean office. The loss on the latter risk will be considerable.
