CRICKET

•WELLINGTON NORTH CLUB. In presenting the fifth annual report, the committee ; of the Wellington North i Cricket Club congratulate the club bn again winning the senior championship. The first eleven and Petone were bracketed for first place, as they were level on points, and there was not time to nay a deciding match. Early in tjho season defeats were sustained at the hands of East A add Central, but thereafter all the matches (including two against Petone) were won. The record was:—Matches played 9, won 7, lost 2. Mir C- G. Wilson headed the batting averages with 45.25 per innings, and Mr T. R. Southall was again at the top of the howling with an average of 9.3 for 42 wickets. The attendance at the practice nets was somewhat better than the previous season, but there is still much room for improvement in this respect. Tho matter of securing practice wickets at the Basin Reserve instead of Kelburn Park will require to bo considered by the incoming committee. The thanks erf the club are due to the Hon. H. D. 8011, K.C.. the Hon. A. L. Herdman, Dr Collins, Messrs A. T. Bate and John Duncan for donations.

WELLINGTON COLLEGE OLD BOYS. The eighteenth annuo! report of the Wellington College Old Boys’ Cricket Association states that tho decision of the Wellington Cricket Association to allow the club to re-enter the championship competitions last season after its compulsory retirement for seme years was enthusiastically received by oil old boys: and the committee congratulates members on the success achieved on the field by all teams during tho season. The first eleven, drew with East A in tho final in the B grade. The club’s thanks are tendered to Messrs J. P'Fifth, W. E. Bethnne, M. C. Barnett and Dr Tolhurst for their generous donations.
