That clever little dancer, Hazel Hardwicke, will do some now toe dances, - the popular little dancers, Thurza Rogers, Jean Plimnier, Marjorie O’Shea arid others are to appear, and little Nell Nathan, will do a barefooted 1 Eastern dance,, so that those patrons who wish to .help along the Countoss , of. laverpool’s fund, for which the recital is being given, will have a very enjoyable entertainment. The small performers are also going •to sell’ sweets’. Waldegravo has returned to- Palmerston, North, after a, short visit to Wellington. , Mr and Mrs Lang, of Christchurch, ar© on a visit to Wellington. , The ’Frisco mail brought news of the conference of the International Women's Suffrage Alliance, which was being hejd in London. In' connection with this, a British Dominions , Overseas reception Was held at the Westminster Palace Hotel, at,which the actresses’ Franchise League arranged a programme. Many Zealanders were present. One visitor writes: “It was a most delightful entertainment. Mrs Chapman Colt - was a wonderful speaker, taking such a broad viuw of the great question. She of course spoke of our New Zealand reforms, and enfranchisement.” Miss Newcombo and Miss Hodge,- who toured Now—Zealand last year ’in connection with the union, wero present, and charmed to renew, acquaintance with friends made so far away. Mr Fowlds was also a speaker, and what little he had to say did well. Among ■the delegates was one of ■the, twentyone women members of- the- Finnish Parliament, Fraulein Annie Furuhjehu ,M.P.. She is a great linguist, and speaks - seven languages 1 -with conversational fluency hub it is - recently: that she,has been persuaded to make public speeches'in any language but Finnish. V
