STRIKE PRISONERS

PETITION FOR RELEASE. The chairman of the A to L Petitions Committee (Mr J. H. Bradney) reported in the House of Representatives' last evening that the petition of Peter Fraser and 9000 others, of Wellington, praying for the release of tho strike prisoners, had been considered. The committee had come to tho conclusion that the Government should favourably consider the petitioners' request. ‘I want to say,” said Mr Bradney, ‘‘that the commtitee was unanimous in its decision.” The question that the petition should be referred to the_ Government for favourable consideration was carried without 'discussion.
