LABOUR OFFERS A REGIMENT. Tress Association. AUCKLAND,' August 12. A conference of prominent Labour leaders authorised Lieut-Colonel 801 l to offer the Defence Department on behalf of Labour a regiment for service at Home or abroad. The .speakers emphasised the fact that although Labour had had its troubles in tie past SU would have in the future, it would " n time of a great crisis present a united front for the Colonel Bell said he appreciated the fine spirit shown, and would have great pleasure in conveying the offer to the department. MOTORISTS LEND AID. The following gentlemen will bo on * duty to-day with their motor-cars for tho convenience of the headquarter s staff: —General Godley (Mr R. A.Arthur), Ladies’ Committee (Mr Meek). Colonel Hiley (Mr Collins), Staff (Messrs Tun-ell and Sladdon). Captain Bowles (Messrs Green and ’ Mantoll).
