MASTERTON A. & P. ASSOCIATION

From Our Own Correspondent. MASTERTON, July 11. • The monthly meeting of the general committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association was held this afternoon, Mr O. O. Cooper presiding over a good attendance. The secretary submitted a statement of accounts for the year ended Juno 30th, 1914, showing a credit balance of £B9 Ob XOd. The committee followed the usual procedure in writing off improvements and plant for depreciation, after which the balance-sheet showed a balance of assets over liabilities to the extent of £8056 13s Bd, as against £BOOO 12s 5d for the previous year., The amount received in. members’ subscriptions woe £IOO3, and in life-members’ subscriptions £29. The profit made on the year’s working was £471, the amount wiped off for depreciation being £417. , The resignations of F. El. Jones and F. Meenken were accepted. Mr \V. B. Alien, of Clareville, donated. a salver OU p j valued fat five guineas, for competition in the Romney section at the next show; the trophy to. he won twice in succession or three times at intervals. A letter was received from Mr W. B. Allen, of Clareville, making complaints against the Railway Department in connection with the carriage of stock at the last Masterton show and raim fair. The letter was referred to a special committee, which has the matter under consideration. A letter of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Mr J. Macrae.

The! ground committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association held their monthly meeting this morning, Mr B. R. Rayner occupying the chair. The' application of the Masterton Gun Club for the Use of the showgrounds for a pigeon match, on July 10th was granted; It, was decided to advise the executive of the military ball that no cutlery is available for use at the hall, and that the rules of the association will not permit of crockery being' lent. It was resolved that no trade advertisements he allowed on the association’s show pens. The caretaker reported that he had carried out various work on the showgrounds during the month. Mr D. Casolberg presided over the monthly meeting of the finance committee this morning. The treasurer reported as follows: —Cr. balance, June 13th, £llß 7s 4d; receipts for the month, £IBO • 18s; expenditure for month £2lO ss; credit balance, £B9 0s lOd.
