FREE AID FOR ALL

FOR A CITY BEAUTIFUL. It is, a long journey from London to ■ tho Antipodes, but Messrs W. R. Davidge, F. 5.1., A.R.1.8.A., A.M.I.C.E. (London County Council), and Charles C Reade (organiser of the Australasian town-planning tour) gladly agreed to come to the Dominion without fee to help New Zealanders towards a better New Zealand. They are not here as fanciful enthusiasts, with merely a pleasant message, to be heard one evening and forgotten in tho morning. Their purpose is to show the people how to make their towns develop beautifully and healthfully. They have tho right equipment, the. right temperament, the right material to assist valuably in the formation of progressive policies. They have a great array of illustrations, giving the best available information on the making and extension of towns to assure a maximum of convenience, comfort, and inspiring environment, with numerous pictures to make their words memorable. Their aid is free to the people; ail that they request is a proper attendance of the public for the profit of the public. Arrangements have been made in Wellington for a series of three lantern lectures on town planning, beginning on Wednesday, duly loth, in the Town Hall. Tho subject of the opening lecture will bo “ Town Planning for New Zealand,” which will be illustrated by a splendid series of lantern slides.
