MISS ELLEN TERRY’S FAREWELL

Miss Ellen Terry will give a farewell discourse at the Town Hall, Wellington, on Thursday next, July 9tb. The subject chosen by Miss Terry will bo one that has never been done by tho famous actress since she commenced her memorable tour of Australasia, viz., the sleep-walking scene from “ Macbeth.” In this emotional scene, whore the great Shakespearean heroine depicts the> murder of the King, Miss Terry is said to be seen at her best. Hero Miss Terry shows that great power of enabling the audience to visualise more than one character as she speaks. One sees there, behind the tragic lady, th© whispering figures of the doctor and the nurse. It is in these scenes that the audiences are shown with what justness Miss Ellen Terry acclaimed her greatness and the season of her fame. The supporting company includes Mr Joseph Blascheck, Miss Nina Forbes, and Miss Gladys McDowell will also be heard in fresh musical numbers. The box plan will bo opened at the Dresden. Day sales will be available as usual. To popularise this farewell the management have reduced the prices of admission.
