TIMARU WATERSIDERS

"VICTORY FOR OLD UNIONISTS.” Press Association. TIMARU, May 22. V The first annual meeting of the Timaru Waterside Union (arbitration), which was formed after the strike last year (before the general strike), was held last night, and lasted till mid' night. The principal results were the election of new officers, some of them members of tho former union which struck in order that the accounts of the late executive should be subjected to special audit. Strong objection was taken by some members to the executive having voted £52 to the secretary, and it was resolved that the Wanganui Union be advised that the union does not acknowledge its affiliation, - this’ having been arranged by the Timaru executive and not by the union. Tho result is looked upon as a viotory for the old unionists.
