Our catalogue to-day consisted of 3500 sheepskins, 440 hides, and a quantity of bag wool and tallow, all wool in hales being held over for the crutching sale on June 12tfi, at which a representative attendance of wool buyers may be expected. Consequent upon the firmness ,m oversea markets, prices for sheepskins hardened, and were in the average a farthing better for woll-woolled skins. Hides showed an easier tendency in ox, while cows were fairly firm. The wet weather having a detrimental effect on the appearance of the hides probably assisted to somewhat depress values. Tallow 1 sold well up to late figures. We quote [prices current below; —Wool (bags | only), crossbred fleece, 8d to 9Jd per j lb; lambs, 8d to BJd; pieces and bellies. Th-ero was a good attendance of buyers at to-day's sale. We offered ■i fairly largo catalogue of odd bales and bag wool, skins, etc. Wool and skins were firm, with a slight advance for skins on last sale’s rates. Hides, in sympathy with oversea and Australian markets, are lower by a farthing to three-eighths for ox, and about a ■farthing for cows. Tallow and sundries sold at the level of last sales. We offered our usual catalogue of all classes of produce to a good attendance of buyers. There was good competition for all lots offered. Prices ruled on a par with last sales, with the exception of heavy ox hides, which show a decline of id to ®d on account of the sloppy condition, due to the Weather. We offered 2000 (sheepskins, 400 tides and calfskins, and a quantlily of tallow. Sheepskins were firm at late rates, good sorts selling very well.
