MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE .MEETS. A meeting of the Wellington. Hockey Association’s management committee was held last night, and was attended ly Messrs C. N. Cathio (chafrmon), A. A. Bennett) H. McGregor, 0. H. E. {jtrack, Jackson, F. Gaze, R. L. Thompson, W, T., Richards, G, Williams, and H. Cameron. A letter, in reference to the Wednesday Association teams competing •for the Nordon Cup, was received [from the Now Zealand Hockey Assoitiaucm, pointing out that if they allowed the Wellington Association to .compete, all tho other centres would seek similar permission, so it ‘had heon decided to decline the _ request. The association considered it would _be more advisable for local associadaons to encourage and cater for competition amongst their subordinatediodlea. Tho association also wrote stating that a eub-cMomiiite© would repeat later -on the question of holding a match between the North and South Islands.

The Now Zealand Sports Protection League supplied tho association with a statement of the main objects M tho league, and asked the afisocaaiion te affiliate with it.

It was decided that permission, be given to the Wednesday Association, to make a charge of sixpence for admia sion on tio occasion of their tourney A. letter was received from the association's delegate (Mr F. C. Atkinson) to tho New Zealand Association’s annual mooting, giving full details of tho proceedings.—lt was resolved to sand a letter to Mr Atkinson thanking him for his comprehensive report. Th© secnobary of the Ladies’ Association wrote asking for the Us© of tho grounds at Karori on tho same terms as last year. Mr Bennett moved that tho application b© granted. Mr Jackson moved as an amendment that the application be granted, provided the money for the same (£l2 10s), together with last season’s arrears, be paid before July Ist; if tho money wore not paid by then, the amount to be raised to £ls,

After a lengthy discussion, the amendment was defeated, and Mr Bennett’s motion was carried. It was decided that the semi-final of the seven-a-side tournament be played at Karori Park on Saturday next, and tho final on the following Saturday. Play will commence at 2.30 p.m. each day. As the majority of the third-class players have to attend the compulsory parades today and next Saturday, it was resolved to postpone all thirdclass matches on these dates. Insurance senior and third-class teams propose to hold practice matches at Duppa street today.
