QUESTION ABOUT A PETITION. Ry Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received May 14, 11.20 p.m.) LONDON, May 14. Mr L. V. Harconrt, Colonial Secretary, in reply to Mr Joynson-Hicks (Unionist), said his attention had been called to a petition to the French Resident Commissioner in the New Hebrides purporting to be signed by British subjects, and requesting to be brought under tho French flag, but be had received information in regard to certain signatories which prevented his attaching undue weight to tho petition.
