COOK ISLANDS

MINISTERIAL PARTY LEAVES - WELLINGTON. The Ministerial party which is to visit the Cook Islands left for Auckland by tho midday express yesterday. It consists of the Hon. Dr Pomare, Minister in charge of tho Cook Islands; Mr E. L. Twiss, officer in charge of the department; and tho Minister’s private secretary (Mr E. Poison). Mrs Pomare also accompanies the Minister. The party will join the Tutanekai at Auckland, sailing from there on Saturday for Rarotonga. His Excellency the Governor and party will leave Wellington by tho Willochra for Rarotonga on May 22nd. H.M.S. Pyramus will probably leave Wellington on May 21st, and will convey tho vice-regal and Ministerial parties round the Islands. Tho visit will occupy, roughly, five weeks.
