“SOLICITING” ORDERS BY ADVERTISEMENT. Press Association. TAUMABUNUI, May 14. • In the Magistrate’s Court this morning a novel liquor-selling point was decided. E. V. AVakeham, Taihape, was charged with advertising in the “Taumarunui Press” : “Order in time. Get from Railway before the holidays.” This, it was contended by the police, constituted soliciting. Other advertisements giving price-lists of liquor in the King Country wore permissible. Defendant was fined 20s and costs. ■ A man named Conrad, with several' aliases, who did not appear, was charged with sly grog-selling. Defendant had bought twelve bottles of ivhisky at KiMkihi, and was caught at Ougarue by the police, leaving from the wrong side of the train. He was convicted and fined £4O and costs, or three months’ imprisonment.
