"I think ivo should urge that the night train, to Auckland he kept on,” said Mr T. Ballinger at yesterday’s meeting of the council of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce. “It is a very important train;” People could arrive in Wellington in the morning, he continued, occupy the day in transacting business, and leave again the same evening. If any train were taken off. it should he the midday train. He had been told that the sleeping berths in the evening trains mere all taken np practically every evening, and tip. trains were much better , patronised this year than was the ease last year. He considered uieht trains shook! he put on also to New Plymouth and Napier. It was decided, after a brief discussion, to communicate with the General Manager of Railways, asking that the night Main Trunk trains be kept on during the winter months.
