It was stated in the report that the association had now fifty-nine affiliated bands. Of these twenty-nine were taking part in the Exhibition competitions, while the balance were represented by delegates. In every case there had been a considerable increase on the Christchurch Exhibition contest entries, and by a strange coincidence the same two musical judges wore acting at the Auckland Exhibition contests /in the same capacity ns they did in 1907. The election of officers resulted as follows. —President, Mr L. Cohen (Wanganui); treasurer, Captain J. Mounsoy (Palmerston. North); executive, Mr C. McConnell (Nanier), Mr W. Jupp, Lieutenant T. Herd (Wellington), Messrs J. Trnssell, J. Anderson, and T. Menli (Wanganui), Mr J. R. Williamson (Auckland), Colonel Pringle and Major Dank (Palmerston North), Mr V. P. Wainaborongh (Marten); auditor, Mr W. Rutherford (Palmerston North). Over fifty vice-presidents were elected.
