The Eastbourne Borough Council’s terry steamers are busily engaged carrying picnickers "to and from Eastbourne and Day’s Bay during this month. On Wednesday upwards of ! 400 children and adults attended the Island Bay school’s annual picnic, held at Eastbourne, and the outing was thoroughly enjoyed by those participating. At the same time the Wellington Hairdressers’ Assistants held, their picnic at Day’s Bay. A large number attended and had an enjoyable time. Yesterday morning two steamers left at 10.15 o’clock, both loaded with -merrymakers. The Duchess carried the Terrace school| .picnic to Eastbourne, and the Cobar was bound to Day’s Bay with the Underwriters Association s annual pio 'nio.
