AUSTRALIANS AT HAMILTON

LOCALS MAKE DR AAV OF MATCH. Press Association. HAMILTON, February 4. The pitch was in much the same condition as yesterday for the second day of tlio Australia-South Auckland match. With two wickets to fall South Auckland continued their innings, which lasted only twelve minutes longer, the last falling with the total at 247. After a slow start the Australians looked like putting on a big score. They rattled up 83 in fifty minutes. AVaddy, following a hitting policy, made 36 m fourteen minutes. The other batsmen, with the exception of Collins, were troubled by the unreliable wicket. Hansford and Armstrong were bowled before they got into their stride, and Noble played quietly for a moderate not-out score; but Collins played beautiful cricket for an hour and a. half, making top score with strokes all round the wicket. The innings realised 287, .and when stumps were drawn the local men had made 99 for seven wickets. The match was thus drawn. Hansford had the best bowling figures, taking three wickets for 11, the first two for 6. Scores: SOUTH AUCKLAND.—First Innings.
