The ohaffcutters in the Bathurst district hare struck, the men demanding new conditions. The union wages at present paid are Is 3d per ton with no fixed hours. The men now demand 12s 6d por eight hour day, with rations. The fanners refuse to pay, and a hitter struggle is anticipated. The farmers intend to carry on with volunteers, but difficulty is expected in loading on the railways, where the men, being members of railway unions, will probably refuse to handle blackleg chaff.
