ALLEGED THEFT

SEVERAL CHARGES. MEN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 2. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, further charges were. heal'd against John Hill, a Customs clerk, Christopher, Robert Smith and Samuel John McCormick. They were charged with stealing, on June 24th, 1911, the sum of £l7 2s 6d, the property of Duckworth, Turner and Co., boot manufacturers, in Christchurch. The accused pleaded not guilty and were committed for trial. A second charge against Hill, Smith, and McCormick was that on Juno 9th, 1911, they did steal £l3 Is, the property of Skelton, Frosbiok and, Co., Ltd., boot manufacturers, of Christchurch. The accused pleaded not guilty and were committed for trial. Jas. Anderson. Campbell, Christopher Robert Smith and Samuel John McCormick were changed with stealing, on December 11th, 1913, the sum of £l9 6s, the property of J.’ and N. Phillips. They pleaded not guilty and were committed for trial.

John Hill, Christopher Robert Smith and Samuel John McCormick were then charged that on November 39th, 1911, they did steal the sum of £lB 16s, the property of John F. Duff, Ltd., of Christchurch, The accused again pleaded npt guilty and were committed for trial.
