ADMINISTRATION AT CHRISTCHURCH. Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, December 24. In the Hospital Board’s meeting, the Inspector-General’s report was read. It stated that the hospital compares still less favourably with tho other hospitals of its class than last year as regards cost, especially in tho items of salaries, wages and provisions. In regard to the latter, it is pointed out that Christchurch Hospital expends on meat £4 per occupied bed more than other hospitals. Tho secretary of tho board said that Auckland and Wellington included in the cost chronic and infectious cases If Christchurch included Ashburton and Woolston Homes, tho cost per bed was reduced from £ll7 to £llO. Christchurch had four separate administrative against one in Auckland and Wellington, Mr W. Tanner said the hospital had one employee for each patient. The matter was referred to a committee for inquiry.
