AUCKLAND EXHIBITION
ACCOMMODATION IN THE CITY. Tho period of suspense caused by the strike has now ended, and visitors are flocking into Auckland to spend some part at least of their Christmas and New Year holidays at the excellent Exhibition which is now the chief attraction offered by the city. There has apparently grown up in other parts of New Zealand an impression that the town will bo overcrowded with visitors, and that the charges for accommodation will be, in consequence, very high. It would probably please both tho Exhibition authorities and tho owners of accommodation in the city if this were likely; but actually there is such - a large amount of hotel and boardinghouse room that there need bo no anxiety on the point. Almost without exception, too, there has been very littlo increase in tariffs charged hy the proprietors of houses of various types. Tho Exhibition authorities, arranged early in their plans for the issue oi an accommodation guide, and have an accomodation bureau which is prepared to make all arrangements for the accommodation of visitors upon application.
