When a belated member of the crew of the Maunganui arrived on the wharf on Wednesday night, ho found that both gangways had been removed and the vessel was ' about to sail for Lyttelton, so he decided to clamber through a port. He first threw a bottle of boor in through tho port, but it dropped into a bath and was shattered. Tho man was shored through tho port, but was more concerned about tho loss of his beer than anything else.
