MR GHANDI CONDEMNED UNPARALLELED CRUELTY ALLEGED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright CAPETOWN, December 23. The press resents Mr Ghandi's tone towards the Government, condemns the shiftiness of hfs methods, and surmises that they represent a carefully-calcu-lated plan to prejudice the findings of the Commission in the eyes of India. The Indian passive resistors contemplate beginning a march in large force on New Year’s Day from Natal to Pretoria. Mr Ghandi has forwarded to the Hon. Krishna Gokhalo a telegram stating that the imprisoned resistors were treated with unparalleled cruelty. SIXTEEN INDIANS SENTENCED, (Received December 25, 5.5 p.m.) ■ CAPETOWN, December 25. It is reported that sixteen Indians havd been sentenced to throe mouths’ imprisonment at Volkrust for attempt-, ing to cross the border into Sierra Loone.
