TEN MEMBERS TO DROP OUT, Twelve members of the Legislative Council are duo to retire on January 22nd next, and ten of them are not very likely to be re-appointed. This is shown by a notification they have received from the Government, which, after reminding them that their term will expire on the date named, proceeds: —“I desire to inform you that the Government has decided that it xa inadvisable to determine the question of a new appointment until shortly before next session. Exceptions are being made in the cases of the Hon, Mr Barr and the Hon. Mr Paul,” The twelve whoso terms are about t« expire are the Hons. J. Anstoy, J, Barr, J. B. Callan, W. E, Collins, il, Gilmer, C. M. Luke, \V. W. McUardlo, J. T. Paul, O. Samuel, J. R. Sinclair, G. J. Smith, W. H. Tucker.
